Discovering the Magic of Polylepis Lodge for Andes Destination Weddings

Nestled in the breathtaking páramo de El Ángel, in Carchi, Ecuador, lies the enchanting Polylepis Lodge — a true gem for anyone seeking a unique and magical wedding destination. Recently, I had the privilege of attending a Fam Trip organized exclusively for wedding planners, and I can’t wait to share the unforgettable experience with you.

Fam Trips (short for familiarization trips) are a fantastic way for wedding planners to explore new venues, experience their offerings firsthand, and expand the services they can provide to their couples. This trip to Polylepis Lodge was no exception; it was a perfect blend of discovery, relaxation, and inspiration.

From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in the serene beauty of the lodge. They welcomed us with a hot Sunfo Tea, perfect for warming up and preventing altitude sickness. Surrounded by ancient Polylepis trees and the rolling hills of the páramo, it felt like stepping into a fairytale. The hospitality was incredibly warm and inviting, setting the tone for what was to come.

Our stay at the lodge showcased everything it has to offer. The accommodations were cozy yet luxurious, with a rustic charm that perfectly complemented the natural surroundings. We also indulged in their exquisite menu, which featured locally sourced ingredients and flavors that delighted our taste buds. Each meal was a celebration of Ecuadorian cuisine — a true highlight of the trip.

One of the standout experiences was visiting the lodge’s spa. Imagine unwinding with a soothing massage or relaxing in a hot tub while gazing out at the misty landscape. It’s an ideal retreat not just for couples but also for guests who want to escape the hustle of everyday life.

For wedding planners like me, seeing the ceremony and reception spaces was a key part of the trip. Polylepis Lodge offers several stunning options for weddings or vow renewals, from intimate indoor settings to breathtaking outdoor locations surrounded by nature. The versatility of these spaces means couples can truly customize their special day to match their vision.

What truly sets Fam Trips apart is the chance to experience everything as if we were guests ourselves. It allows us to understand what couples and their loved ones would feel when celebrating their wedding at a venue like Polylepis Lodge. This firsthand knowledge is invaluable when recommending venues or destinations to clients — it’s not just about selling a space but sharing an experience.

Fam Trips like this remind us why we do what we do — creating unforgettable moments in unforgettable places. Polylepis Lodge is more than a venue; it’s an experience, and I’m so grateful to have discovered its magic firsthand.
